ROP Retail Sales and Merchandising Summer Class
If you interested in getting great experience that can lead to a job and get credits toward high school graduation, check out the ROP Retail Sales and Merchandising class. ROP will be offering the class this summer. The class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 6:00pm at Sears in the lower level section in the Puente Hills Mall. 5th Firefighter Career Expos
The Firefighter expo will be held on Saturday, April 12th from 10am to 2pm at the CPAT Center in Orange. The address is 626 N Exkhoff St #100, Orange, CA. The Expo is free and encourages candidates to find out if they have what it takes to enter this rewarding profession. TRANSPORTATION: FREE BUS will be provided for students that want to travel by bus. Complete the bus permission slip and include it with your conference registration form & registration fee. Bus leaves at 7:15 a.m., check in @ 7:00 a.m. and returns @ 4:00 p.m.

National College Fair
The National College Fair in Orange County will be held on Sunday, April 22 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center in Hall E. Before the fair visit www.nacacnet.org/ncfstudent to register for the fair, watch a video for a complete fair overview, and learn about different types of schools. There will be 220 colleges attending. We encourage high school juniors to attend.

The FAFSA deadline is this Friday, March 2nd! You can use last year's tax information and change later. Don't miss it! Every Senior, technical/vocational, two and four year college bound should file a FAFSA. Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov (not .com!) and file now.
Community College applications start mid-March. Mt SAC is open now. Go online and submit your application. Mrs. Sandoval has the Bridge applications.
EPT/ELM tests are required for CSU applicants. Check your EAP score to see if you are exempt. SAT scores over 500 also count. Google EPT/ELM to sign up. Let us know if you need help. Be sure to read everything you get from the colleges. Check your portals often.

Tuesday, November 15 in the Little Theater, Periods 2 and 3 (come to either one). Important information about community college. Teacher permission is required to attend.

Periods 4 to 7 Thursday and 2 through 7 Monday in G11 lab!
If you haven't finished your CSU app, be sure to come in for help!
BRING YOUR TRANSCRIPT, your SS# if you have one and parent's income (estimated)
If you've finished your CSU and are applying for UC, work on that now.
Remember-BOTH CSU AND UC APPS ARE DUE NOVEMBER 30!!

There are no more fee waivers=you must pay with a credit card. Go to act.org to sign up.
The SAT Deadline for December has passed, but the late deadline for December is Nov. 20.
Go to collegeboard.com to sign up (you need a credit card)
You do NOT need these test for community colleges, trade/tech colleges, and most art colleges!

Be sure to get the common app packet for Mrs. Hall, and WATCH THE DEADLINES!! Some colleges have deadlines in December! (ie: USC for scholarships) We are running out of November!

Please see Mrs. Hall about a program next week in Baldwin Park (Nov. 16 in the evening) that discusses the issue. Be sure to research deadlines test and course reqs, etc!

Last Chance for 4 Year Colleges!!
Friday, November 4th is the last deadline for the December ACT test. Tuesday, November 8th is the last SAT deadline for the December test. Mrs. Hall has ACT fee waivers, but no SAT fee waivers. You can complete a paper SAT and request a fee waiver. If you have not yet tested, you must complete testing by December. Be sure to list your colleges when you apply. You need either the SAT Reasoning test or the ACT for UC's, CSU's and all four year colleges. You do not need these tests for community colleges, or trade/tech colleges.
CSU/UC workshops
We will have online application workshops on Tuesday, November 8 and Thursday, November 10 in G11 for CSU, UC and the Common Application (private colleges), periods 2-6. Teacher permission is required. Bring your transcript and social security #, and parent income information. Start work before you come to a workshop on csumentor.edu, universityofcalifornia.edu/apply, and commonapp.org. Reminder that all CSU and UC applications are due by November 30th.College Info Session for Seniors interested in out of state colleges on Wednesday, November 16th at 6:30pm. Scholarship Information
KFC scholarship for 2.75 GPA and up- apply at www.kfcscholars.org. Apply December 1-February 8.Deadline extended for the aspirations@ncwit.org scholarship (girls only-win a laptop). New deadline is November 21st.
Join PTSA!! Cost is $5. You can put this on your application and qualify for scholarships in the Spring
We will focus on FAFSA (financial aid) and community colleges in December through March.

CSU College Application Workshops
Seniors!
We will be having two days of application workshops to help you fill out your CSU college applications. Please get teacher permission to attend one of these workshops.
Workshops will be held on October 25th and October 27th in the A-2 computer lab. We will be available to help from periods 2 to 7 on both days. Pick a date and period you want to come, check in with your teacher first and come to the lab.
Details!
Make sure you go to csumentor.edu and apply for an account.
Start the application at home if you can in order to get done within one period.
Bring your transcript. We will not be able to print one out for you on that day.
Bring your social security number. If you don't have a social security number, you can still apply.
