Need CAR Hours?

Students!
You may complete CAR hours by helping elementary students with homework Monday-Thursdays 3-6pm in the library. See the librarian after 3pm to schedule. They need your help!

The library is open to NHS students after school Monday-Thursdays from 3pm to 7pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.

Schedule Changes

If you need a schedule change, you will need to fill out a Request For Schedule Change form available in the main office. Please have your parent sign this form. Do not come to the main office during class time, you may come at lunch, before or after school. Your counselor will notify you if the change can be made.

Freshmen Orientation

Our 2nd Annual Freshmen Orientation will be held this Friday, August 22nd from 8am to noon in the gym. All incoming 9th graders are invited. You will meet your Link Crew Leaders who will be working with you all year long. If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Denny at school.

IMC Executive Lunch for students interested in Education

Students with an interest in the fields of education are invited to attend the IMC Executive Lunch. Dr. J. Michael Ortiz, President, Cal Poly Pomona will be the featured guest speaker. The lunch will be held on September 2nd from 11am to 1:30pm at the Pacific Palms Conference Resort. If you are interested, please see your counselor or Mrs. Hall.

Occidental College's Fall 2008 Multicultural College Visit

Occidental College will hold its Fall 2008 Multicultural Visit Program for outstanding high school seniors of underrepresented backgrounds this October 26-28th. African American, Latino, Native American, Native Hawaiian, and first-generation Asian students are encouraged to apply for this program. Students selected to attend the program will have the opportunity to travel to Occidental's beautiful Los Angeles campus, stay overnight in a residence hall, participate in classes, and interact with faculty and current students at no cost to them or their families.

If you are interested, see your counselor immediately. Applications are due by Monday, September 22nd.

Cosmetology Orientation

If you are enrolled in the Cosmetology class for the new school year, then you must attend an orientation on Monday August 25 at the ROP Ed Center at 5:00 pm.

Students interested in taking Cosmetology in Fall 2008 must attend with a parent or guardian if they have not already done so.

You’re invited to an information night for our new 9th grade AVID students and parents, next Wednesday, August 13 in the Nogales Little Theatre. We’ll discuss schedules, expectations of the AVID elective at Nogales, and other key issues! We hope both parents and students will attend the meeting, as we want to build success from the start for our AVID Freshmen.
