UC application is on www.universityofcalifornia.edu
You need a transcript to complete them and you need a counselor to check before submitting.  Please come in before Friday to get help.
Mrs. Hall's students may send username and password to my home email for checking: saradiershall@yahoo.com.  Please include your cell # too.

2. SAT/ACT must be completed by December for four year colleges.  If you have not tested, your only option to to test "standby" this Saturday.  Go to South Hills or West Covina High; bring your photo Id, pencils and calculators.  You may not get in!  Be there REALLY early-we suggest 7am.

3. Most private/out of state colleges are not due until January 1st, but USC is due this Saturday, December 1st if you plan to apply for scholarships.  These application is on www.commonapplication.org.   You need a counselor to complete the school report and a teach to write a letter of recommendation.  This is a time consuming application-no way to do it last minute.  USC is very selective, so if you are not very strong, don't apply there.  Almost all other private colleges are on the common app, so take a look at it after you've finished your CSU/UC applications.

Do not wait until Friday to get help.  This is your life and your future.

We will have group meetings with all Seniors on December 13th to go over the FAFSA (Financial Aid and Scholarships), and will meet with undocumented Seniors December 6th during 5th period in the Little Theater to discuss the Dream Act.  These meetings will be for all colleges-2 year, 4 year, and trade/tech.

Dream Act-Financial Aid for Undocumented Students

Counselors will be meeting with AB540 students on Thursday, December 6th during 5th period in the Little Theater to discuss the Dream Act and how to apply for financial aid.
For undocumented students to qualify for AB540 and the Dream Act they must have been enrolled in a California high school for the past three years.  That’s it!  Students can apply for financial aid at www.caldreamact.org.  They will fill out a form that is much like the FAFSA except it has been modified a bit for these students.  AB540 students can now qualify for financial aid to pay for 4 year colleges, community colleges as well as trade/vocational schools.  The Cal Grant alone for UC's is almost $10,000 a year!
We have posted useful information and links about AB540 and the Dream Act in the guidance section of our school web site.   If you have any questions, please talk to your counselor.
