SHAPE Parenting Classes

The Rowland Unified School District is providing an important and informative program called Sharing Healthy Adolescent and Parent Experiences  (S.H.A.P.E.). This is a 5 week evening program for parents and their sons or daughters in  4^th, 5^th, and 6^th grade ages  9-12.

The goal of this program is to allow parents and their children to learn and discuss growth and development together in a comfortable setting.  The age-appropriate sessions will focus on puberty, the reproductive system, teenage pregnancy prevention, and handling peer pressure.   S.H.A.P.E. classes include interactive games, discussions, videos, and lectures.         **A parent must attend together with the child in order to participate.

S.H.A.P.E.  classes begin  Monday 4/29, and continue 5/6, 5/13, 5/20 & 6/3  from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm at the Family Resource Center on the Northam Elementary School campus.  As long as you are a parent, whose child  attends  4^th through 6^th grade at any of the schools in the district, you are welcome  and encouraged  to attend. However, space is limited.  Those accepted into the class will receive a confirmation phone call from the Family Resource Center.
